Who may use it
You must be 18 or older. The site is written for people who are in Australia, and the rules it describes are Australian ones. If you are somewhere else, betting with an Australian-licensed operator may not be open to you, and the law where you are applies to you.
A publisher, not a betting operator
Wattle Select publishes a written review of one betting operator, Betfair, together with guides to the rules around betting online in Australia. It is a publisher. It is not a bookmaker or a betting exchange: you cannot place a bet here, open an account here or send us money, and we never hold anything on your behalf.
Nothing on the site is a tip, a prediction or personal advice of a financial or legal kind.
Advertising
The site is an advertisement for Betfair. Betfair pays us a commission for customers who arrive from this site, and that commission is the site's only income. The links are marked, and the same notice runs across the top of each page. More detail is on the about page.
How far to rely on it
Facts about the operator and about the law are read from the sources named beside them, on the date shown. They were right on that date as far as we could tell. Operators change their prices, fees, payment options and terms whenever they choose, and regulators amend rules, so a page here can fall behind. Before you act on anything, check it on Betfair's own site or with the regulator. Where this site and the operator's terms disagree, the operator's terms are the ones that bind you.
Your dealings with the operator
Once you follow a link to Betfair you are on its site and under its terms, privacy policy and complaints process. Any account you open is an agreement between you and the operator. We are not a party to it and cannot see, change or settle anything in it.
Liability
Betting costs money, and you can lose everything you stake. We do not accept responsibility for betting losses, or for loss that follows from relying on the site, as far as the law lets us exclude it. Rights you hold under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded and are not affected by these terms.

Our material and other people's
The writing and design of this site are ours. Please ask before republishing them. “Betfair” is a trade mark of its owner and is used here only to identify the operator being reviewed.
Changes and governing law
We revise these terms when the site changes; the date under the title shows the latest revision. They are governed by the law in force in Australia.
