Who this policy covers
The publisher of wattleselect.com. For anything about your personal information, write to [email protected]. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles it contains.
What we receive
Emails you send us
If you write to us we receive your email address, whatever name you sign with, and what you tell us. We use it to answer you and, if you reported an error, to fix it. We do not add you to a mailing list. There is not one.
Requests to the web server
Loading any web page means your browser sends a request, and the computers that serve this site keep a routine record of each one: the internet address it came from, the time, the page asked for and the browser's description of itself. These records are used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse. We do not use them to work out who you are or to follow what you read.
What we do not collect
- Nothing about your betting. We have no access to any Betfair account.
- No identity documents, payment details or date of birth.
- No tracking across websites. The site sets no cookies; the cookies page describes the one entry your browser keeps for the age check.
Under 18
The site is for adults. If you believe someone under 18 has written to us, tell us and we will delete the message.
Who else handles it
The companies that host the site and carry our email process the records described above on our behalf. Some of their computers may be outside Australia. We do not sell personal information, we do not pass it to Betfair or any other betting operator, and we disclose it otherwise only where the law requires.
When you leave for Betfair
A link to Betfair tells the operator that the visit came from wattleselect.com and which button was used. It carries nothing that identifies you. Once you are on Betfair's site, its privacy policy applies, and anything you give it when opening an account goes to Betfair, not to us.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected]. We aim to reply within 30 days.
Complaints
Please write to us first so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, the national privacy regulator, through its privacy complaints page or on 1300 363 992.
